

She was born on October 15, 1929, in Easton, MD, the youngest child of Alberta E. Thomas-Elms & Paul Elms of Easton, MD. Martha graduated from Easton High School in 1946. After graduating, she worked as a secretary for German Insurance for 10 years in Easton, MD. She loved her job and made many lifelong friends there.
Martha married Kenneth Miller, and together they had two daughters, Lenna E. and Deanne M. who they raised in Easton, MD and Dickeyville, MD. The family moved to Florida, and she spent many successful years working in real estate with several companies such as Rutenberg Homes, Durling & Associates, Marvin Homes and Hammer Homes. She loved all of her coworkers and clients who she worked with. She retired at the age of 72. Martha was very active in her communities. While in MD, she enjoyed serving as a member of the Elks Club in Easton, MD, The Dickeyville Garden Club and The Dickey Memorial Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, MD, and loved everyone in Easton & Dickeyville. In Florida, she was a member of The Religious Science of Mind Church of Cape Coral, FL for many years. She had many lifelong friends from there who she loved dearly. She served as President of the Saint Claire Condominium Association for many years where she lived in N. Ft. Myers, FL. She loved all her neighbors there. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, reading and entertaining. She spent quality time with her family and friends who she loved very much.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Lenna E. (Gary) Miller-Thomas of Cape Coral, FL and Deanne M. (Patrick) Miller-O'Brien of St. Paul, MN; five grandchildren, Mark A. Greim, Apryl E. Randall, Adam O'Brien, Denzel O'Brien & Thomas J. O'Brien; two great-grandchildren, M. Zachary Greim and Lindsay E. Greim, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Thomas Elms; sisters, Dolores Cawley and Frances Austin; former husband, Ken Miller and her longtime friend, Joe E. Brown.
Martha was a very dedicated loving mother, grandmother and aunt who devoted her life to her family, friends, employers, and community. She will be greatly missed.
A gathering will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral, FL 33991 on Friday, May 23rd between the hours of 4 -5pm with a Celebration of Life to follow. Food and refreshments to be served afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Martha's name may be made to Hope Hospice House, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy E., Cape Coral, FL, 33909.
