Reva Lee Kasdan, 98, of Ft. Myers and Sanibel passed away peacefully at home Thursday, April 2, 2015. She was born November 3, 1916 in Louisville, Ky. and delighted in telling her family stories about growing up during the Depression and surviving the Great Flood of the Ohio River in the 1930's.
Reva retired from her job at the Sanibel Chamber of Commerce when she was in her 80's and continued to be active as manager and president of Tennisplace condos until she moved to Ft. Myers in 2003 at age 86. She and her dear husband Jimmy, who predeceased her, loved fishing and the good life on Sanibel which they discovered in the 1960's, before the causeway was built. In later years she became an avid reader often reading 3 books a week.
Reva was a loving mother to daughters Bonnie Kasdan (Stan Zell) and Louise Haglind (Dan Underwood); grandchildren Diana Hull (Robert), Suzanne Ederr (Sunny), Karen Piner (Daniel), and Gregory Haglind (Krystal Schweizer); great-grandson Joshua Hull. Reva also adored her many nieces and nephews and her caregiver, Vicky Bradley.
A private family service will be held April 10th.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Hope Hospice.
