This may be late and I apologize.  My name is Karen.  Many may not know of me but I am first cousin to Wayne.  His father Albert was my father's brother (Paul Maslauskas who has been deceased since 1985).  I wish in life I got to know both Albert and Wayne.  I never came to know of Albert's name till recently.  In fact, I barely know this side of the family and I would love to very much.  My heartfelt condolences to his family.  I apologize for reaching out in this manner.  If anyone in the family wish to get in touch with me, I would love to talk with you.

Donna, I'm so sorry to hear about Wayne. We worked together here in Ft Lauderdale at CA and we would always talk about getting our families together. I had lunch/dinner every time I was in Ft Myers. I considered Wayne a good friend and will miss talking with him. Rod Nail

Daddy I miss you so much..today I finished Frankenstein the Dead Town by Dean Koontz..all I can think about is how much I want to tell you about it..you would have been so excited to read the final books to the Frankenstein novels..it ends positively and does not leave you hanging like book 3..I am happy I continued reading and all I want to do is share that with you because we shared our love of books together..you were so anxious to see how this series would end and i finished it for the both of us. I love you and i miss you.

Although we just met Wayne, he was the first person to welcome us to Florida. He was very kind and went out of his way to help us move here. I am so sorry for your loss.

He had the quality to make others comfortable, relaxed and he was extremely fun to be around.  You wanted to be his friend.  As a physician I witness the deaths of many patients.  It is never easy to hear the news of their passing but sometimes it is even more difficult when a younger person  passes before their time, such is the case. Dear Allie, Katie, Donna and the Mitchell family--

Words will never be able to accurately describe Wayne.  Outgoing, friendly, caring, passionate is just a start. Many moons ago there was a friendly softball coach name Wayne, with an incredible daughter name Allie giving the Dusters all they could handle on the field.  Wayne brought stability and fun to softball and traveling together as a family was a blast.  Who will able forget Katie, Stephanie, Sammy, Anthony and Charlie in the outfield cheering for their sisters and putting up with softball.  The memories are endless and priceless.  

Every time we see the Sox's play we  know Wayne is cheering.  Wayne was the only person I know that drank more Dunkin Donuts coffee than me.  There was a phrase I was told years ago that symbolizes a person; Live, Love and Leave a Legacy; and that is what Wayne did!

Dear Members of Wayne Mitchells' Family--

Please accept my condolances in your loss of Wayne. I had the honor of working with him during the Bishop Verot basketball season this year. Since I was new at running the scoreboard, I met Wayne for the first time. During the season we became friends, much due to his welcoming spirit. I also work as an usher at Spring Training,for the Twins, and this past Saturday Wayne attended the game and gave me a hug of friendship as he was leaving the stadium. Little did I know that would be my last contact with him. 

I want to wish all of his remaining family peace in your hearts in the coming days, as you deal with his untimely passing. He will be missed by many, and thought about many times in the future.

I'm shock to hear the news of his passing, I just saw him the other week he was here at the nursery doing one of his favorite things, driving around the farm and enjoying the plant material. I have known Wayne for about 7 years and will dearly miss his visits to the nursery, and being able to share plant knowledge with him.

I'm very sorry to hear about Wayne.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wayne was my godfather and he will be greatly missed. I have known the Mitchell family since Katie was in Kindergarten and your house was my second home. Donna, Katie & Allie - I know you are hurting but remember this "Death leaves heartache that no one can heal, but love leaves memories that no one can steal". I am blessed to have known Wayne and have had him as a part of my life, he was taken too soon.

I moved to SW Florida in December 2011, and I knew just 2 people. 

Early in January, I attended an art fair.  At the fair, I met a man - Wayne Mitchell.  Despite being a "Patriots fan", we just seemed to connect (lol).  He introduced me to new people, referred me business and we just hung out together.  He was always affable, fun, kind and caring.  My children thought he was really "cool" (teenagers :)). In other words "a real good guy".
 
True friendship - befriending a person you don't even know, for no reason “just because" that is the Wayne I know.  In the short time I knew Wayne, I learned he was not only a good friend, but a smart businessman, a loving father who cared so much about his children, and maintained a very amicable relationship with his ex-wife.  Wayne never said a unkind word to me about anyone.  

Wayne was, to me, one of those guys who I knew would be right there by your side through all of the good times, and the bad times.  There aren't many people left like him, and we should all mourn this loss.

Rest in Peace, Wayne, in the presence of God...
