Desmond is survived by his mother, Marilyn Maxie; father, Robert Sammy (Bobsy); daughter, Danica Maxie; son, Isaiah Maxie; brothers, Dale (Brenda) Maxie, Curtis Maxie; sisters, Charity Maxie, Ivy Shepherd; grandmother, Margaret Bruce (Arthur). Adopted parents, Josh & Madeline Kakakaway; adopted brothers, Charles Maxie, Sedrick Kakakaway, Josh, Trent, Dakota Greycloud, Andrew & Tyrell Kakakaway, Spencer, Joey, Irvin Nahbexie; adopted sisters, Chastity Maxie, Belle & Autumn Kakakaway. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents, James & Anna Maxay; Alex Paul.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23 from the White Bear Community Hall. Traditional Feast and giveway preceding the service. Interment in Bigstone Cemetery. The Wake was held Tuesday evening in the White Bear Community Hall.
