Cheryl Lee Slavik

Cheryl Lee Slavik, 75, of Carmel, Indiana departed this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Cheryl was born on March 19, 1949 in Canton, Ohio to the late Dean & Mabel (Hendershot) Morgenstern. She grew up in Marietta, Ohio and was a graduate of Marietta High School Class of 1967. Cheryl then earned her degree in education from Ohio University where she met her future husband, Charlie. Cheryl worked as a schoolteacher for six years, then stayed home with her children, Stephanie and Nathan. Once her children were grown, she returned to the work force as an operations manager, until her retirement in 2019. Cheryl was a kind and thoughtful soul, fiercely loyal, and loved her family so well. She was happiest making memories with her family and loved supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Cheryl is loved and missed greatly by family, friends and all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved son, Nate Slavik, brother-in-law, Craig Slavik and nephew, Matt Grimes. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Charlie Slavik; beloved daughter, Stephanie (Matt) Jones; grandchildren, Ella, Eli, Lucy and Finn Jones; sisters, Pam (John) Grimes and Joyce (Greg) Birtsch; and a niece & nephews, Ashleigh (Clint) Ridenour, Tommy (Marsha) Cravens, Teddy (Liz) Cravens, Stuart (Jen) Grimes, and Hunter (Kendra) Birtsch. A memorial visitation for Cheryl will be from 2:00pm - 4:30pm on Saturday, April 27th at Leppert Mortuary – Smith Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Road in Carmel.
