She was raised on a farm and received her BS in nursing from Indiana University.
She married Lance Longnecker in 1962. They moved to Des Moines to raise their family. Family, friends, faith and belief in helping others was of great importance to her.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lance E. Longnecker, MD; daughter Lori Longnecker (Thomas Dawidczyk), daughter Amy Vearrier (Michael); son Tom Longnecker; sister Sue; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother, Keith Fetters.
At her request, no services will be held.
