Karl Gerald Jung

Age 78, of Westfield, Indiana departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2025. He was born October 10, 1947 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to the late Allen F. and Marguerite K. (Keough) Jung. He was a 1961 graduate of St. Bernadette Elementary and then graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1965. Karl then earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in 1972. On June 9, 1979, Karl married Susan Marie Haymaker at St. Eugene Parish. He owned and operated Higgins Printing for 40 years where he made many life long friends.

In retirement, he and Sue moved to Westfield, Indiana to be closer to their children and Karl took a part-time job driving a school bus for Westfield/Washington School District for the past two and a half years.

Karl was preceded in death by his unborn child, his brother, Tim Jung, parents-in-law, and brother-in-law, Alan Haymaker.

Karl is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Susan Marie Jung; devoted sons, Christopher Karl (Sarah) Jung and Kevin Jung; dedicated siblings, Kraig Jung, Julie Jung, Al (Jane) Jung, Jerrianne (Greg Strohmeyer) Jung, Jerrette (Henry) Sita & Leo (Claire) Jung; dear in-laws, Jerry Haymaker, Gary (Nadine) Haymaker, Paul (Mary) Haymaker, Diane Haymaker (Evans), Rose Jung and a host of nieces, nephews and dear old friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Karl’s name to Dogs On The Go Hearing Assistance Dogs or to Relevant Radio, Inc.

Westfield, Indiana Arrangements:

Memorial visitation will begin at 10:00am on Friday, February 13th at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church (17102 Spring Mill Rd, Westfield, IN 46074) followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am.

A luncheon follows for friends & family (please RSVP by 12:00pm on 02/11 to: [email protected]).

Park Ridge, Illinois Arrangements:

A Memorial Mass for Karl will begin at 10:00am on Friday, February 27th at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish (920 Granville Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068) followed by inurnment at Maryhill Cemetery (8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714 - please go safely to meet for inurnment at the cemetery).

All are then welcome to a luncheon at Lone Tree Manor (7730 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714) at 12:00pm.
