Lori Jean Kelly-Murray, 65, of Indianapolis, passed away on Feb. 6, 2024. She was born on Aug. 22, 1958, to parents Gene and Mary. The youngest of two daughters, Lori was a spunky and strong-willed woman who loved gardening, being creative and looking her best. Her greatest achievement in life was becoming a mother to her son, Ryan.
Always the storyteller, Lori could elicit a belly laugh from anyone with ease. In her spare time, she enjoyed a good meal, being with family and friends, reminiscing about her time at The Gingersnap in Union, Iowa, and all the other adventures throughout her full life.
Lori is survived by her sister, MaryAnn (James) Reilly, son Ryan (Ashley), her grandchildren Noah and Olivia Graham and Gavin and Owen Murray, countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She joins her parents, and maternal and paternal grandparents in death.
A visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 12 at Leppert Mortuaries (900 N. Rangeline Rd. Carmel, IN 46032) from 4-8pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (Carmel, 46032) on Tuesday, Feb. 13, starting at 11:30am. A luncheon will follow. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hamilton County Humane Society in Lori’s honor. Her furry friends were some of her most beloved companions over the years, and we appreciate you celebrating her life by giving to a cause near and dear to her.
