

Marian Amy Hamaker, age 85 of Carmel, Indiana passed away on November 02, 2025 after a long pulmonary illness. She was surrounded by her Family; Her husband of 63 years, Larry; Her daughter, Cheryl Hamaker Miller; Her son and daughter in law, Jeff and Sue Hamaker. She was blessed by all of her grandchildren; Amelia, Jeffrey, Joe, Kelli & Ashley and her great grandchildren; Cadence, Ava and Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents; Amy and Irvin Brissell and her son Steven Hamaker.
Marian was born on February 19, 1940 in Ashtabula, Ohio. She attended grade and high school in Ontario, Ohio. She then attended Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio obtaining a two year associates degree.
Marian met her future husband, Larry Hamaker, at 16 while working at a Big Bear Grocery in Mansfield, Ohio. She was a Big Bear Girl and he was the Big Bear Boy. They married in June 1962 at the Ontario Methodist Church and have celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Marian began her work career as a secretary at F.C. Tucker Real Estate in Carmel, Indiana and soon became a realtor at the Carmel Office for the next 30 years. She was known by many at this office as "Mother Tucker" because many would search her out for advice and help while working with a client.
After retirement she and Larry traveled extensively and had several different homes in Florida that they always shared with others. They also enjoyed their homes in Pentwater and Holland, Michigan which became a place to relax and have fun with many of their friends.
Marian loved tennis and golf and teased her husband about her hole in one, which she created a banner (Miss Hole in One). She also enjoyed cooking, and being the competitive person she was, made another banner "Miss Meatloaf" of Pentwater. In 2023 she and her husband moved back to Carmel, Indiana to pick up with family and old friends.
Services will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
