Obituary of Rita C. Mordacq
Rita C. Mordacq, 81, of Carmel, passed away February 17, 2021. Rita was born January 27, 1940 in Morrisonville, Illinois to the late Edward and Mary (Farley) Clavin. She was the youngest of nine children. She grew up and attended school in Illinois before moving to Carmel with her husband E. John Mordacq in 1961. Rita is survived by her son, Tim (Trish) Mordacq of Westfield, IN and daughter, Celeste Wheeler of Florida; three grandchildren, Abby Wheeler, Kassie (Nona) Patton, Arena (Elias) Decena; and great grandchildren, Eric King and Spyder King. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 46 years, E. John Mordacq in 2006; and eight siblings. Rita enjoyed reading, admiring several types of paintings, and was very social. She also had a love of food, and could bake the best Peach Pie. Rita and her husband were members of the Knights of Columbus for several years and attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, Indiana, with a service on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM, also at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel. Interment to follow at Carmel Cemetery. Masks will be required to enter the building and social distancing will be enforced.
