Flo Gillespie was born in Clermont, Georgia on June 26, 1927. She was the youngest daughter of James Marion Martin and Flora Mae Green. In 1945 she married Bill Berry, and became a widow in 1977. Flo then married Bob Gillespie from Ft. Worth, but was widowed again in 1996. She was also preceded in death by siblings Lucille Garrison and Grant and Ralph Martin.
Flo’s greatest joys were her family and friends. She is survived by her son Tim Berry (Deb) of Leadville, Colorado; grandchildren, Zach (Alison) Berry of Maui, Hawaii, Chelsea (Erik) Iliff of Crofton, Maryland, and Cameron (Lauren) Berry of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and great-grandchildren Miles and Grayson Iliff, and Benjamin and Abby Berry.
Our precious Granny Flo is also survived by dear friends MoDean Connel, Tonia Akins, and Elizabeth Welt, as well as her church family at Farmers Branch Church of Christ.
She was coordinator of the WOW “Young at Heart” group for 15 years, and a faithful member of many small groups at the church. She was fiercely committed to her Chickenfoot buddies, and also enjoyed the AARP widowed persons group, and the Farmers Branch Woman’s Club.
Flo retired from Motorola in 1993. She always seemed to enjoy her work as a secretary.
Granny Flo was cherished by her family and friends. She will be missed.
