Jake loved life, family and friends, Jimmy Buffet, his dogs, the Pittsburg Steelers and just relaxing in his own backyard. He was always available to help a friend or neighbor.
Jake retired from the City of Carrollton. He also served in the United States Air Force...of which he was very proud.
Jake is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel Jenkins, and his younger brother, Tad Jenkins.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend, Jamie Jenkins, his son, Jason Jenkins, his sisters, Judy Linton, Roberta Gibson (husband Russ), Linda Heckart and brother, Robb Jenkins (wife Rita). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews but especially close to his heart was Nancy Reed and Scott Linton. He will also be greatly missed by his "cousin", Tina Fugate.
He will be missed more than words can express. Although the pain of losing him is intense, to quote Garth Brooks, "I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance".
Per his wishes, there will not be a formal service. Condolences for the family can be left at: www.rhotonfuneralhome.com
