James Estill Daugherty

Visitation will be at 10:00am, Wednesday 19th as Rhoton Funeral Home, Carrollton, TX

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday 19th at Rhoton Funeral Home with Pastor George Huey officiating. Graveside service will follow 4:30pm at Board Church Cemetery, Comanche, TX. Arrangements are by Rhoton Funeral Home.

James was born in Wooster, OH to Rollie & Pansy Daugherty on March 17, 1939. He married Cindy Nell Cornwell on November 3, 1972 in Dallas, TX. He made his career in Insurance sales. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1958. Throughout the years he enjoyed spending time with family and attending his children and grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events. He was a Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan, but always held a place in his heart for the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Most of all he loved the game of golf. He was an avid golfer and recorded his only hole in one in 2015.

James is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Clyde H. Leas.

James will be deeply missed by his wife Cindy of 44 years, his daughters Michelle Renee (Kevin) Epperson, Kelly Carol Hendrix (Daniel) Smith, and son James Estill Daugherty (Lucy Alvarado, sister Vida Jarreldean Sprowls, Grandchildren Casie, Morgan and Aaron Epperson, Jordan (Andrew) Beggs, Justin and Claire Smith.

Pallbearers will be James Daugherty, Kevin Epperson, Daniel Smith, Justin Smith, Andrew Beggs and Scotty Francisco.
