

Judith “Judy” Nan Ross, age 84, passed peacefully on August 5, 2021. She was born on November 9, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Raymond and Gwendolyn ”Dot” Bullock. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Roy M. Ross Jr, and her granddaughter Tanner Nicole Ross. She is survived by her children, Roy M. Ross III and Julie Ross Cunningham, their spouses, Jeannette Ross and Brad Cunningham, her grandchildren, Chase Ross, his wife Michaeleah Assini, Olivia Cunningham, her brother, John Bullock, his wife Jeanne Bullock, and nieces Tracy Burnett and Shawn Bullock.
Judy attended Michigan State University where she met her husband Roy. After marriage they moved to Venezuela for Roy Jr. to work for Mobil Oil, where their son Roy was born. After six years in Venezuela the family moved to Midland, Texas where they had their daughter Julie. Nine years later, they relocated to Carrollton, Texas where she was a resident for forty-nine years. During her lifetime Judy was a professional tennis instructor as she was the athlete in the family. She taught her children how to throw footballs and baseballs. Throughout her expansive tennis career she won many awards and accolades. Tennis was a big part of her life and was where she met many of her friends. In addition to this, she was an amazingly creative artist who worked with all kinds of mediums. From wood carvings to welding metal art; she was always ready to create something wonderful. This love of art was shown in things she did for others. She airbrushed all the RC race cars for her grandson Chase; they were always the best looking ones around. She helped her granddaughter Olivia to paint by fostering her creativity and providing the tools and ideas. She also participated as a makeup artist for her son Roy, and his wife Jeanette’s Make a Wish haunted house for eight years. Her skills were always up for the challenge and managed to exceed expectations every time!
Judy was beloved by her family and friends. She was a treasured mother and grandmother who embraced every moment with her loved ones. Her loving and genuine personality had everyone around her smiling and laughing. She was an insightful woman who you could always go to for advice without judgment. She will be dearly missed.
A visitation with family for Judy will be held on Wednesday evening August 25th, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Metrocrest Funeral Home, 1810 Perry Rd, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
