

Maynard E. Weidmann, 88, the son of Edward H. and Lelia Cunningham Weidmann, was born May 23, 1925 in Mobile, Alabama and passed from this life, Thursday, July 25th following a long period of failing health. Maynard grew up in Mobile where he graduated from High School and he later earned a Bachelor's Degree from the from the University of Alabama.
Maynard was a retired veteran of military service having served with he United States Army Air Corps during WW II and later serving with the US Army Infantry during the Korean War. He retired with the rank of Major. Among medals and honors of which he was awarded was the Silver Star, the Korean Service Medal with Five Bronze Service Stars, and the UN Service Medal. Following retirement, he worked with NASSA as a procurement officer and later worked with the Health and Education Department. He retired in 1975.
Maynard had been a resident of Farmers Branch for 46 years, moving from Dallas.
Preceded in death by his wife, Maudine in 2007, he is survived by his son, John of Gainesville, Texas and by a granddaughter, Casey Weidmann and a grandson, John Weidmann both of Arlington, Texas.
Graveside Services with full Military Honors will be at 11:15 am, Thursday, August 15th at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Attendees will meet in lane "B" at the cemetery at 11 am
