I was fortunate enough to have worked with Rod in various facilities and engineering department roles for approximately 30 years, and I appreciated his intelligence, sense of irony, and quick wit.  Rod was very well versed in many subjects and I appreciated his perspective on the countless topics we would discuss.  I am saddened to learn of Rod’s passing and I know that he will be missed by all who knew him.

Rod and I were actually more than good friends and co workers  - we found out early on that we were both born in the same hospital in Texarkana 6ea weeks apart,; once home from the hospital we actually lived a few blocks from one another  ,  we had relatives that worked in the same defense companies around Hooks and Texarkana, we both drove the same model cars in high school and later after college we again drove the same model cars , we were both students of the martial arts and we both were interested in firearms . 

We worked together at Lockheed Martin in Plant Engineering and Field Engineering in the Facilities Department for over 30+ years ; we both retired within a year apart, we spoke by phone at least once a week and spent many weekends going to estate auctions in Waco, Texas . 

Rod was more than a good friend - he was more like a brother to me - someone I could really talk to, to get advice from, eat and drink together and really laugh together  - he was a extended part of my family - my wife and I admired him, we trusted him and  above all we loved him very much - he will be greatly missed .
