Tom Economy, was born November 7, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Anas Tommy Economy, Sr and Mary Tenya Blaise Economy. He attended to the University of Texas and Trinity University, earning his Bachelor’s degree. He served in the U.S. Army.
Tom was an avid reader and loved music, being proficient in guitar, bass, mandolin and other instruments, even playing trombone in a polka band with his brother! He and his lovely wife Carlene played in several bluegrass groups, including the Front Porch Pickers. They traveled with friends Jeff and Ann Norris in the group “Native Timbre”, traveling and performing in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and other venues for 2 years.
Tom was a Certified Public Accountant and owned his own bookkeeping and tax preparation business in Dallas for many, many years.
Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife: Carlene Bosshardt Economy; Parents: Anas Tommy Economy and Mary Tenya Blaise.
He is survived by his Daughter: Gwen Mansfield and husband Eddie; Son: Tom Economy and wife Pandora; Grandchildren: Chad Mansfield and partner Lindsay Lassoter, Scott Mansfield and wife Megan, JB Economy and wife Carli, Carson McCall and husband Luke, Martina Kaiwi and husband Chris McDowell.
Tommy is also survived by his Brother: Richard Economy, Sisters: Tenya Economou Fitz and husband Eddie; and Constantina Economou and partner Josh Bacon; Niece: Nicole Brown and husband Jonathon and daughter Bella, and Nephew Lance Economy and wife Lori Ann.
Others that are left to cherish his memory are clients and music friends too numerous to mention.
