On June 18, 2019 an angel came to Carson City and took Lynn Rae Weaver away from the pain and suffering of Multiple Sclerosis.
Lynn was born on February 11, 1946 in Stanton County, Nebraska to Raymond and Bernice Kassebaum.
She was an excellent student and an accomplished musician. She played in the high school band and won a regional music event by playing "Swinging Shepard's Blues" on her flute.
Unable to attend the U of Nebraska, she enrolled at a small school in South Dakota to become an x-ray technician. After a residency in Omaha, she was accepted for employment at San Jose Hospital in California.
She met her future husband, Kit Carson Weaver on her first day in town. After whirlwind courtship, they were married on February 18, 1968 in Carson City. They eventually moved to Carson City in 1975 and Lynn quickly found work, first with DMV, then Highway Patrol and then spent 10 years working for State Welfare. Then she became a group leader at SIIS for the next 6 years. She joined a private firm and retired 4 years later.
Lynn had many hobbies; reading, cooking, miniature violets, cacti and always had colorful flowers out front and back in the spring. Planning their many camping trips was a high priority. Lynn made friends easily and kept them.
No services are planned, but if you see Kit around town you might say Hello, and an impromptu celebration of Lynn's life may occur.
