Bill Baldry, born on January 4, 1929, in San Francisco, bid farewell to this world on February 22, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Raised by his devoted mother in Hollywood, California, Bill's journey was one marked by remarkable experiences and profound connections.
He embarked on his life's adventures graduating from Fairfax High School and subsequently answering the call to serve his country as a proud member of the Marine Corps. Stationed as an embassy guard in Bangkok, Thailand, and later as a rifle instructor at Camp Pendleton, California, Bill exemplified honor and dedication in his service.
Following his discharge, Bill found his passion in the world of entertainment, working diligently as a film editor at NBC Studios in Burbank, California. It was during this time that he crossed paths with the love of his life, Linda, with whom he shared 40 years of unwavering companionship.
Their union blossomed into a beautiful family, with Jon, Christine, and later Jessie joining them in Tahoe. Bill's devotion extended to his role as a loving grandfather to Nick, Farradae, Tony, Megan, Taylor, Logyn, and Alexander, and as a cherished great-grandfather to Cruz. He welcomed Jennifer and Maria into his family with open arms, embodying the essence of a loving father-in-law.
In 1988, Bill and Linda embarked on a new chapter in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where they savored the serenity of nature and the tranquility of retirement. Later relocating to Loveland, Colorado, they built a haven on a ranch before settling into a custom home they lovingly designed.
In 2002, drawn back by the allure of Nevada, they returned to Minden, where Bill found solace in the beauty of his surroundings and the warmth of his community. An ardent outdoorsman, Bill found joy in fly fishing and reveled in the intricacies of woodworking, leaving behind tangible legacies of his creativity and passion.
Bill's zest for life was evident in his love for the great outdoors, particularly fishing, and his skilled craftsmanship as an avid woodworker. He found immense joy in traversing the globe with Linda and their family, cherishing every moment of their adventures together.
As we bid farewell to Bill, we find solace in the memories we shared and the profound impact he had on our lives. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us, and may his legacy endure for generations to come. Semper Fidelis.
