Barbara Jane Guinn

Barbara was born December 5, 1937 in St. Charles County, MO, daughter of the late Andrew Huggins and Anna Huggins Rodenmeyer.

Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Saint Charles High School. Married Carl Guinn on July 7, 1956, they were married 53 years before he passed away in April of 2009. She was a longtime volunteer at the Resource office in Cartersville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Guinn; brother, Andrew Huggins Jr.; Great Granddaughter, Taylor Shaw.

She is survived by her daughters, Carla Guinn Powers (Dan) of Springfield, Illinois, Amy Guinn of Flintstone, Georgia; two Grandchildren, Laura Powers Shaw (Trevor), and Nathan Powers of Springfield, Illinois; sister in law, Cathy Guinn Blaser (Merrill); several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, February 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Redwine officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from two o’clock in the afternoon until five on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations made to Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 1234 Mill Creek Rd., Rocky Face, GA 30740, c/o Rev. Michael Redwine.
