Bayaman Michael Barcus

SGT Bayaman Michael Barcus, age 24, passed away on Sunday June 13, 2021. Bayaman was born on September 1, 1996 in Mailuu-Suu, Kyrgyzstan, son of Michael Duane Barcus and Nurkamal "Nuri" Ahmedova Barcus. He immigrated to the USA in October 1998, and grew up in Hackettstown, NJ.

In 2015 he moved to Adairsville, GA where he lived until he enlisted in the US Army Infantry in 2016. He attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA and received recognition as Honor Graduate for his platoon upon graduating his training. After completing Basic Training he served with the 2-35 Infantry Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, HI until he re-enlisted in 2019.

In August 2019 he was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment "Iron Knights", 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, CO where he continued to serve until the time of his death. In September 2020, SGT Barcus attended and successfully completed training at the US Army Sniper School at Fort Benning, GA

Survivors include his daughter, Josie Leigh Barcus, his younger brother Todd Barcus, and his parents Michael and Nuri Barcus.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with military honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
