Betty Massey

Mrs. Massey was born July 20, 1917 in Marietta, GA, the daughter of the late Leonard Brown and Ethel Whorton Brown.

Mrs. Massey was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was a devout Christian who trusted greatly in the Lord. She also was an active member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Massey is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Orrin (Gus) Massey; daughter, Betty Ann McClure; daughter-in-law, Barbara Rogers; sisters, Caroline Paschal and Virginia Evans.

Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Donna and Leon Munday of Cartersville; son, George(Jerry) Rogers of Cartersville; grandchildren, Denise Tate, Melvanee Hogan, Jane Bunce, Kelly and Clifton Bodie, Rebecca Lyons, Tracy and Pete Marcellini, Earl and Kim Lanham and Jennifer Jones; special grandchild and caregiver, Lorrie Lewis and her husband Michael Lewis; great grandchildren, John and Todd Bunce, Isaac Lyons, Jennifer Blackstock, Tony and Bethany Marcellini, Brent and Jessie Hogan, Austin and Savanna Wyatt, Jaylin Jones and Dustin McConnell, Jr.; great-great grandchildren, Brody Hogan, Taylor Hogan, Austin and Tana Blackstock and Hope Bunce; a special great-great grandchild, Kalee Wyatt.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from the Georgia National Cemetery with the Rev. Joe McKaig officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Earl Lanham, Austin Wyatt, Michael Lewis, Tony Marcellini, Brent Hogan, Clifton Bodie, Pete Marcellini, Todd Bunce and John Bunce.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Sunday, April 21, 2013 from Owen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made to Oakland Heights Baptist Church.
