Billy Elbert Knox

Billy Elbert Knox, age 68, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on October 8, 2025. Born and raised in Cartersville, Billy was proud to call this community home throughout his life.

Billy was a devoted family man whose heart belonged completely to those he loved. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He and Sue shared many years together filled with laughter, love, and countless memories.

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue Knox; his cherished son, Denton Knox; his loving parents, Joe and Gleneze Knox; and his sister, Barbara Knox. Though their absence was deeply felt, he carried their memory close to his heart every day.

He is survived by his daughter, Erin Murray, along with his grandchildren — Jessica Knox, Hailey Knox, and Liam Knox — each of whom held a special place in his heart. He shared an especially close bond with Liam, his little “shadow,” who was never far from his side.

He is also survived by his brother and sisters — Bobby and Yvette Knox, Margaret and Jerry Jackson, and Marilyn and Terry Cantrell — who shared countless memories, stories, and laughter with him over the years.

Billy will be remembered for his kind heart and deep love for his family. Whether sharing a story on the porch or lending a helping hand, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him, with a sweet smile and laugh that could make your heart grow.

A private gathering of family and close friends will be held to celebrate Billy’s life and the many ways he touched those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him most.
