Charlotte Ember Allen

Charlotte met her husband, James Harris Allen at Cartersville High School where they both graduated. On June 25, 1964 they married, and remained together for the next fifty-six years before her passing. Charlotte earned a bachelor degree in nursing and was employed at Barnes Jewish Children's Hospital as an RN in St. Louis, MO. She used to live in Augusta, SC, Yorktown, VA, St. Louis, MO and later moved back to Cartersville soon after her retirement of over thirty years. Charlotte loved traveling and had been on several cruises. She enjoyed volunteering her time to those in need. Charlotte was happy to be a part of Operation Smiles, which is an organization assisting underprivileged children throughout South America. One of her favorite things to do was to watch police and medical TV dramas, as well as her favorite team, the Braves.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her children, James Donald Allen and Jolanda Allen (Kenneth) Lawrence; grandson, Joshua Matthew Kirkpatrick; step-grandsons (Kenneth Lawrence III, Michael Lawrence); great step-grandchildren (Michael Lawrence Jr. William Lawrence, Hailee Lawrence, Avery Lawrence and Sydney Lawrence); sister, Shirley (Phillip) Brown; and brother, Michael (Tonya) Vincent.
