

Donna was born on August 13, 1948 in Neptune, New Jersey to her parents Donald A. Solovikos and Dorothy Doremus Solovikos.
She was known in her school days as “Shorty”. Later in life she was known to her family as a devoted “Mom” and “Grandma”.
She was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. As her children grew, she served as a Cub Scout den mother in Neptune, New Jersey, and school nurse volunteer in Merritt Island, Florida. She was a member of the Women of the Moose for 35 years and served as Recorder, Senior Regent, and Past Graduate Regent of the Lodge in Merritt Island, Florida. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Cartersville, Georgia.
Donna worked in retail sales and for a credit bureau. Before retiring, she worked as office manager for Elebash Realty in Merritt Island, Florida.
She greatly enjoyed cooking, baking, geneology, crocheting (afghans and potholders for friends and family), shopping, and dining out. If anyone suggested a trip to a casino, she was first to say “Count Me In!”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Theodore and Grace Solovikos; maternal grandparents William and Harriett Doremus; sisters Patricia Lee Burdge, Mary Madeline Marchese, and Virginia Grace Solovikos; and special aunt Anna W. Solovikos..
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband David M. Long; children Timothy Michael Solovikos (Joanne), Scott William Wise (Alison), and Colleen Marie Lavender; grandchildren Zachary Solovikos, Chelsea Wellnitz (Taylor), Brendan Scurlock, Becca Elliott (Ray), Dillon Giles, Jared Wise, Taylor Lavender, and Logan Lavender (Bridget); and great grandchildren Amelia Welch, Silas Welch, Sirena Wellnitz, Opal Scurlock, and Theo Scurlock; and brother Wesley (Butch) Solovikos.

We invite you to join the family for the memorial service at Owens Funeral Home, Cartersville, Georgia at 2:00pm on January 24, 2026. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home at 1:00pm immediately preceding the memorial service.
