

Mrs. Tate was born September 3, 1921 in Bartow County, a daughter of the late Harrison Gentry and Jewell Cline Gentry.
She was a member of the Church of God of Union Assembly and a homemaker. She loved to shop, go out with the girls and go to church.
Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her children, Douglas Tate and Glenda Pratt and by her husband, Dewitt Sampson Tate, and is survived by her children and spouses, Donnie and Patty Tate, of Marietta, Judy Faulkner, of Dalton and Nell Crider, of Woodstock, fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, sisters and brothers, Dorothy Satcher, of Dalton, Olen Gentry, of Dalton, Mag Brookshire, Myra Teems, Weldon Gentry and H.R. Gentry, all of Euharlee, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 5, 2010 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Giles and Rev. Charlie Bell officiating. Interment will be in the West Hill cemetery in Dalton at 1:30 P.M. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Frank Crider, Jaron Tate, Shane Tate, Todd Tate, Eric Tate and Ron Crider. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Crider, Marti Pratt and Tory Faulkner.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
