Evelyn Young

Mrs. Evelyn Russell Young, 90, of Cartersville, GA went to be with her Savior on Friday, July 17, 2020. Evelyn was born in Cartersville, GA on August 11, 1929 to the late Mr. Ed Russell and Mrs. Alice Crowe Russell.

Evelyn was a devout Christian and was the wife of the late Rev. Frank Young for many years. She and her husband were on the radio every Sunday morning declaring the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over 43 years. Evelyn was a charter member of Northside Methodist Church and was its oldest member. Evelyn worked for many years for E-Z Mills as a seamstress. She loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn will be truly missed by all those people who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Edna Russell Britt.

Evelyn is survived by her sons; Darrell (Sherry) Young and Danny (Angee) Young, grandchildren; LaNita Wilkey, Darren Young, Andrew Young, Alyse Young Slusher. Five great grandchildren also survive to cherish her memory.

A Celebration of Evelyn's life will be conducted in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home on Monday, July 20, 2020 at one o'clock in the afternoon with the Rev. Lynn Miller officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home on Monday, July 20, 2020 from eleven o'clock in the morning until the service hour.
