

Mrs. Faye Black Benson, 84, of Cartersville, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Faye was born in Cartersville , GA on April, 11, 1935 to Reverend Lee Black and Mrs. Etta Phillips Black.
Faye was a loving wife and devoted mother. She was a faithful Christian who loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church where she enjoyed her Sunday School class and serving the AWANA youth program. Faye loved to travel and shop; most of all, she loved her family. She adored being Grand Mamma to her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Faye and her husband Allen also belonged to CHVA Car Club. Faye will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Allen Benson, daughters, Rhonda (Bo) Emerson, Robbin Benson Hurley, grandchildren; Lindsey Curry, Ashley Landers, Kaitlyn Peterson, Jay Emerson III, Charleston Hurley and Meg Hurley. Seven great-grandchildren also survive to cherish Faye's memory.
The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home on Monday, March 16, 2020 from four o'clock in the afternoon until seven.
A graveside service will be conducted at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton on Tuesday, March 17 at eleven o'clock in the morning. Serving as pallbearers will be: Faye's grandsons, grand-sons-in-law; Robert Landers, Ross Peterson, and nephews; Mike Patterson, and Danny Black.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Faye's loving care givers.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
