Gail Wayne Sary, who went by Wayne, passed away on Saturday, January 4th, 2025. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Ms. Ellen Remlinger. He and his mother moved to Peoria, Illinois when Wayne was a small child. His future dad, Mr. Louis Sary, resided there and later adopted Wayne. He was raised in Peoria with Ellen and Louis, as well as his two sisters. He attended Limestone High School where he participated in the wrestling program. The interest in this sport became a life-long passion. He also met his first wife, Karen, during his high- school years.
After high school, Wayne enlisted into the United States Navy; he decided to enlist versus being drafted so that he could select which branch to join. Wayne and Karen got married and were stationed in San Diego, California. They had four children together. After serving 8 years in the Vietnam War, Wayne was honorably discharged.
He returned to the states and tended to move around a bit. He lived in Illinois, Tennessee, Washington, Kentucky, and Florida. While in Florida, he met his second wife, Dalneiche Sary, and they had four children together. Later, they moved to Georgia, Arkansas, and then back to Cartersville, Georgia where Wayne spent the last 33 years. He was a hard- working man and father-spending many years working at Chemical Products and Shaw Networks. Once retired he spent his time in the yard or dreaming about his next big plan.
Wayne was quite the character. He was highly intelligent, extremely witty, and had the best sense of humor. He enjoyed the simple things in life, but his passion was dogs-especially his dog, Cooper. He cared for Cooper for 14 years and was the best dog dad around.
Wayne lived a long life filled with many chapters all wildly different, but he will always be remembered by the stories he could tell, his crass jokes, and his thousands of Full Throttle Energy drinks he consumed. If he was within 5 feet of you, you can best bet he was going to gift you a nice cold Full Throttle!
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Ellen Sary; father, Louis Sary and sister, Billie-Joyce. He leaves behind a younger sister, Ellen, as well as his wife, Dalneiche Sary of 38 years; eight children: Celeste (David Miller), Scott Sary, Kirk Sary, Rachelle Sary, Zachary Sary, Rebekah (Matthew Carpenter), Zane (Chelsea Sary), and Savannah Sary. He also leaves behind multiple grandchildren, Garrett Sary, Samantha & Elise Miller, Brooks Valk, Sutton Sary, and Margot and Juniper Sary.
Wayne will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him. The family will be holding a private family memorial service.
