Harry Edward Jones

Mr. Jones was born May 1, 1936, in Washington, D.C. the son of the late, Harry Hall and Nellie Margaret (Heflin) Jones. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict and was retired from the Cobb County Board of Education. Mr. Jones enjoyed golf, motorcycles, blue grass music and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Deloris Jones and two brothers, David Herbert Jones and Robert Russell Jones.

Surviving is his wife, Barbara Jones of White, three children, Edward Mitch and Pamela Gwen Jones of Acworth, Steve M. Jones of Cartersville, Diana and Rob Miller of Taylorsville, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Vivian Lipscomb of Fredericksburg, Virginia, brothers, Michael Bruce Jones of Rockwell, North Carolina, Carl and Donna Jones of Honey Harbor, Ontario Canada, William Francis Jones of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Miller officiating.

Entombment will follow in Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
