Mr. Tatum was born October 14, 1953 in Bad Kissigen, Germany, a son of the late James Earl Tatum.
He was an Army veteran and employed by New Riverside Ochre Company. James loved to play the guitar and riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Tatum Harris, of Folsom, two brothers, Ray Tatum, of Macon and Kenneth Tatum, of Cartersville and a sister, Evelyne Crowe, of Dallas.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from the Oak Hill cemetery with Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. Military rites will be observed.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
