John Danny Gibbs

Danny is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Gibbs. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jayne Gibbs; sister, Lynn Abernathy; sister-in-law, Claudia Gibbs; brother-in-law, Don Swanson; several nieces and nephews.

Danny graduated from Cartersville High School, class of 1965. He graduated from Reinhardt University with a degree in money and banking. After graduation he became a local banker here in Cartersville for 22 years. For the next chapter of his life he started a career in commercial real estate and served his community for 25 years. He was still an active agent with Professional Realty Group.

Danny was a true people person whose kindness and warmth touched everyone he met. Deeply involved in his community, he dedicated countless hours to service and leadership. Danny was a faithful member of the Sam Jones Methodist church in Cartersville. He was a member of the Cartersville Rotary Club. Danny loved volunteering and gave generously of his time to numerous civic and charitable organizations. His commitment to helping others and improving his community will be remembered with gratitude and admiration.

Among the many joys in his life, he cherished four most of all: riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, classic cars, wing and sporting clay shooting, and listening to music—especially Southern rock.

A private service will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in the sanctuary of Sam Jones Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:30 in the sanctuary.
