It is with great sadness that the family of Keely Caudelle Daniel, 66, shares her passing on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her family and closest friends. Keely was born in Atlanta, GA to Marilyn Langley Mitchell and the late Maurice Henry Caudelle.
While growing up in Hampton, GA, she met her future husband, Scott Daniel, at the Sadie Hawkins Dance. Keely and Scott moved around the states of Georgia and North Carolina as they supported each other through college and medical school, each becoming the first in their families to attain college degrees.
Keely served as an educator in Bartow County for over 20 years. Her love of learning, serving children, and rallying volunteers to worthy causes were evident to all who knew her. She donated much of her time to the Backpack Buddies program at Euharlee Elementary School and CASA of Northwest Georgia. From young children to lifelong friends, many trusted in her as a calming confidant and wise ear. Keely had an innate sense of what makes people tick, and used that to help all of us understand each other better. After retiring in 2017, she and her husband enjoyed vacationing at the beach, gardening, and spending time with friends, loved ones, and beloved pets. Above all, Keely was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. Being known as ‘Gagee’ for the last four years brought her tremendous joy. With a loving, kind, and generous heart, she touched the lives of many.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Alicia Smith, and a nephew Patrick Bunn. Keely is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dr. Scott Daniel of Kingston, GA; children Zach (Ali) Daniel of Acworth and Katy (Thomas) MacDonald of Marietta; mother Marilyn Mitchell of McDonough; grandchildren Grayson Daniel, Lanier Daniel, and Hamp MacDonald; sister-in-law Anne (Mike) Bunn of Lafayette; nephew Paul (Kelli) Bunn of Ringgold; great-nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends at their home on Hardin Bridge Road in Kingston, Wednesday, April 30th from 5:00-7:00 pm. A private celebration of life will be held separately. To honor the memory of a lady who served so many, the family encourages you to enrich the life of a child.
