
Born April 30, 1955 in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late Vivian VanEtten Kottemann, she had been a resident of Cartersville since 1970.
Marilyn worked in customer service at Shaw Industries for over 25 years. She was a 1973 graduate of Cartersville High School, and was born a triplet. She loved animals.
Survivors include her son, Michael Hankins, of Dunwoody, her father, R.E. Kottemann, of Cartersville, her older sister, Rev. Beth J. Kottemann, of Clarence Center, New York, sisters and brother in laws, Nancy and David Johnson, of Cartersville, Phyllis and Terry Lamb, of Bradenton, Florida, her brother and sister in law, Dick and Brandy Kottemann, of Cartersville, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 25, 2014 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Nena Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children’s Leukemia Foundation, 7316 Ave. U., Brooklyn, NY 11234.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 till 3:00 P.M. Saturday.
