Martha Beatrice Young

Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Jesse M. Neal and Della Chastain Neal Brannon. She was born March 20, 1925 in Bartow County.

Mrs. Young was a member of the Olive Vine Baptist Church and a homemaker. She liked preserving food, enjoyed going to the mountains with her daughters, was a very good cook, and a loving “Grannie” to all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Gentiva Health Care and to her friend, Betty Temples who she enjoyed visiting with very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years John Homer Young,, daughters, Carolyn Y. Collum, in 1985, Sara Y. Findley, in 2013, daughter in law, Georgia Young, son in law, Alton Temples, brothers and sisters, Elbert Neal, Chester Neal, Herman Neal, Clinton Neal, Buren Neal, Tom Neal, Frank Neal, Billie Joe Neal, J.M. Neal, Dessie Ailene Bennett, Mary Sue Daniel, and Frances Poynter.

She is survived by daughters Martha Temples, of Rydal, Wilma Findley, of Cartersville, Mary Jane Self and husband Ronnie, of Adairsville, Mamie Pierson and husband Randy, of Rome, sons, Jimmy Young and wife Nancy, Paul Young, John S. Young and wife Tommy, all of Rydal, son-in-laws, Michael Findley and W.D. Collum, brother, Dave Neal, of Knoxville, Tenn., 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Log Methodist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Joseph Temples, Byron Young, Ryan Young, Neal Young, Mathew Self, Ashley Findley, and Jordan Pierson.

In lieu of flowers for those desiring contributions may be made to the Pine Log Methodist cemetery fund.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.
