Melody Kaye Hodges

Melody is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hodges; parents, Olin and Pauline Johnson; her mother Sara Graham (Collins); Her son Adam Abernathy, her daughters Jessica Bethune and Tammy Hodges. She is survived by her children, Addie (Chris) Pinson; Joseph Abernathy; Beth (Dalton) Hook; Kristy (Michael) Caya grandchildren, Jessie Greene; Trenton (Andrew) Ashley; Tyler (Macie) Pinson; Rowan Johnson; Amira Abernathy; Titus Obenshain; Brodie Abernathy; Brianna Goddard; Kayla (Tyler)Cox; Taylor (Austin) Beaty; Amber Hillman; Victoria Hillman; Reagan Hook; Jackson Hook; Bryson Hook; Chris Hodges; Aiden Raines; Carson Maltman; Aubrey Perkins; Bryson Caya Great Grandchildren; Kaycee cox; Kenzleigh cox; Caylin Cox; Hannah Cox; Carson Cox; Oakley Beaty. stepfather; Robert (Bob) Collins. brothers, Anthony Abercrombie; Shane Collins; sisters, Faye NeSmith; Connie Abercrombie; Rhonda Payton and Terry Brown.

Melody was a loving mother and Grandmother. She had a heart of gold for the ones that were lucky enough to get to know her. Melody had may careers before she became disabled. She managed at Pizza Hut until the Cartersville location was sold out, shework at Waffle House off and on throughout her life. The career she loved the most was working for Elite motors.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 24, 2026 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Edmondson officiating. The interment will follow at Kennesaw City Cemetery with her Grandson’s serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
