Mr. Gravley was born in Emerson, GA on February, 11, 1942, son of the late Walter and Lula Mae Evans Gravley.
Mr. Gravley retired from John Deere, where he served as a mechanic for many years. He was a proud member of Grace Baptist Church, formerly Gilmer Street Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
Mr. Gravley is preceded in death by his brothers, Walter C. "John" Gravley, James C. "J.C." Gravley, Robert D. Gravley and Marvin L. "Louis" Gravley; sisters, Betty J. Gravley Massey and Helen M. Gravley Hardin.
Mr. Gravley is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Janie Hardin Gravley; daughter, Janice Elaine Gravley; grandson, Michael Alexander Jr.; brother, Norris (Margaret) Gravley; a number of nieces and nephews also survive; special sister-in-law, Judy (Kenny) McCoy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday the 7th of August, 2022 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Rutledge, Horace Jones, Kemp McReynolds, Ron Hillman, Jerry Norris and David Griner.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are the nephews of Mr. Gravley and his grandson, Michael Alexander Jr.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from one o’clock in the afternoon until three on Sunday the 7th of August, 2022 at Owen Funeral Home.
