Robert was the son of the late Aubrey Franklin Dragoo and Beulah Mae Tutor Dragoo. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Duane Dragoo. He is survived by his sisters: Betty Goetz, Janice Long, Ethel Lambert, and Susan Hochkins; along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews who dearly loved their “Uncle Robert.”
Robert was a man of many passions. Known affectionately as a “punster” by his family, he had a sharp wit, a love of big words, and never missed the chance to share a pun. His favorite word, “loquacious,” was one he enjoyed using to bring humor and delight into everyday conversation. A true connoisseur of old British literature, Robert also had a deep love for music—especially rock and Christian rock. One of his highlights was getting to see Robin Trower in concert.
Robert lived his faith boldly as a Christian man who loved the Lord and sought to live a life that reflected Christ. His kindness, laughter, and wisdom left a lasting mark on those who knew him. He cherished his family deeply and always kept them laughing with his humor and lightheartedness.
For many years, Robert worked as a dedicated truck driver. He found great joy in his monthly breakfast gatherings with his Estes trucking friends, where fellowship and stories were always shared.
A graveside service will be held at Little River United Methodist Church in Woodstock, Georgia on Friday October 10th at 12pm.
Robert will be remembered for his intelligence, his humor, his faith, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever loved.
