Born February 21, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Anna Marie and Ramsey Phillip Henderson, he was the youngest of seven siblings. In his early adulthood, he was hired to Southwestern Bell in the mail room, went to college and was in the Army National guard, earning the rank of First Sergeant. He met his beautiful wife, Susan, on a blind date which turned into a lifetime of love. He played basketball for Georgia State University, and worked his way up to Area Manager with Bellsouth until he retired.
Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who had a big heart and sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan, his sons, Robert Jr. and Stephen Benjamin, his grandchildren Connor, Sean, Jacob, Jordan, Will and great-grandchild, Jameson, and his sisters, Margaret Snyder, Aartje Campbell and Phyllis Cacciola.
Robert had a passion for reading, especially on subjects pertaining to early America and had an affectation for older movies in what he called "the Golden age of film." HE loved music, grilling, his family and his Savior. Amongst his final words was a last pearl of wisdom to the family; "Don't give up, keep moving forward. It's never too late to have a good life. Just do it."
