

Ronnie was born February 3, 1945, in Cartersville, Georgia, the son of Homer and Carrie Mae Branton. Ronnie married Lynne Thompson on November 15, 1965 in Cartersville, Georgia. They were less than one month shy of their 60th anniversary.
Ronnie began his career at the Georgia Department of Transportation in 1964. He retired after 30 years of service. After retirement, he became a consultant for the DOT for another 10 years.
Ronnie spent his time off enjoying hunting, fishing, but most of all, water skiing. He spent many hours on Lake Allatoona with his family. His favorite vacation spot was Daytona Beach, where he spent many hours walking along the shore.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Lynne Branton; daughter Rhonda Branton Leewright (Corey); son Adam Branton (Crystal); grandchildren Lauren (Triston), Anna Grace, Bryson, Carson, Rylee, Madeline, and Landon. He also leaves behind his twin sister, Connie Godfrey (Jerry); brother Jerry Branton (Carol); sister-in-law Loretta Branton and brother in-law Hank Thompson (Lawana); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Carrie Mae Branton and brother, Larry Branton.
Visitation will be held on October 20, 2025, at Owen Funeral Home from 6 pm to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Center Baptist Church.
