Roy Daniel Moore

Mr. Moore was born on March 25, 1948 in Cartersville, GA, son of the late Virgil Moore and Mary Ruth Stanley Moore.

Mr. Moore was a fun loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the Navy and received honorable discharge. He was a dedicated employee of Goodyear for twenty-seven years where he served as a machinist. He was a huge baseball and golf fan and was always routing for his favorite teams, Georgia Tech and the Yankees. He was an avid Civil War buff. He enjoyed traveling with his wife of twenty-two years, Janice Moore to Amish Country in Pennsylvania and Ohio, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. He was an avid singer and sang in a quartet with his wife.

He is preceded in death by a step-son, Chris Goss.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Moore; sons, Stephen (Kim) Moore and Michael Moore; step-sons, Andy (Lisa) Goss; step-daughters, Dana (Jeff) Hill and Georgia (Buddy) Couch; grandchildren, Nicole and Sarah Moore, Nicholas and Brittany Hill, Carla (Jamie) Davis, Abigail, Isaac and Elisha Moore, Emma Couch, Hannah and Grayson Goss; twin-brother, Stan (Gail) Moore; brothers-in-laws, Lamar (Robin) Kennedy, Gary (Sherry) Kennedy, Danny (Linda) Garland and Ronnie (Sandra) Eller.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Collum officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Grayson Goss, Isaac Moore, Nicholas Hill, Andy Goss, Buddy Couch, Jeff Hill and Brian Moore.

Honorary pallbearers are Gary Kennedy, Lamar Kennedy, Danny Garland, Ronald Smith, Gene Smith, Howard Jr. Cochran, Ronnie Eller and Johnson Brown.

Visitation will be held from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.
