Tammy was born on March 11, 1968 in Tuscaloosa, AL, daughter of Doyle Sanford and Barbara Doughty Sanford.
Tammy graduated from North Cobb High School in Acworth, GA in 1986 and had a variety of jobs right after high school. In later years, she attended ITT Technical Institute where she studied Criminal Justice and was always making the Dean’s List. She graduated with honors in 2010. She had a private investigator license in both Georgia and Alabama. Her passion was not making money with investigations, but doing volunteer work for parents of missing and murdered children. She worked for years trying to help her dear friend Sherry, find her son. Tammy was a kind and loving person who loved all people and never discriminated. She hated gossip and never wanted to hear anyone say an unkind word about another person. She was a very creative type person, who loved making floral arrangements and water falls and painting pictures of flowers. She would often give away to family and friends things she had made. Whatever Tammy had, she was willing to share with family and friends and anyone she thought might need it. Her most favorite thing to do was spend time when she could with her children. She loved to cuddle up on the couch with them and watch movies or go do fun things with them.
Tammy had a near death experience in 2009 when she developed pneumonia and sepsis. Although the doctors did not think she would live, her God did. Through anointment and lots of prayer, she survived. There is nothing greater than God and the power of prayer. She was with us for seven more years, but developed several diseases including chronic kidney disease. The pain she suffered trying to pass kidney stones, she suffers no more. Go fly high, Tammy, and we will see you in heaven.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Laudie Sanford of Northport, AL and Warren G. Doughty and Louise Doughty Hartin of Romulus, AL.
She is survived by her parents of Fayette, AL; children, James Trey Seitz of Fayette, AL; Jordan Nicole Seitz of Livermore Falls, ME, Sean Seitz Sanford of Fayette, AL and Sabrina Chea Seitz of Fayette, AL; one brother, John Doyle Sanford of Cartersville, GA; nephews, Kyle Sanford of Cartersville, GA and Jesse Sanford of White Fish Bay, WI; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was particularly close and had a special bond with her Aunt Loyle and her cousin Debbis Sanford Keeth. She loved her telephone conversations with them and her time spent with them. They came second only to her children.
