On November 14, 2025, Thelma Sue Corbin Musiedlak—beloved by most simply as Toby and Susie—went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She now dwells in the house of the Lord forever, her name written among the faithful whose stories do not end, but continue in glory.
Born on August 23, 1938, in East Prairie, Missouri, to the late Earl Curtis Corbin and Dolly (Walker) Corbin, Susie came into this world with a gentle spirit and a steadfast heart. She lived a full and abundant life—one woven with family gatherings, laughter that rose like hymns, and a love that stretched across generations.
Susie’s journey was marked by both joy and sorrow, and she carried each chapter with grace. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Robert, William, Ben, Joe, Danny, Johnny, and David Earl; her sisters Helen, Ann, and Peggy; and her infant son, Jeffery, who was born forever sleeping and whom she now holds at last.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, David, and her oldest sister Maude Parker and her youngest and dearest sister, Connie Maki, along with a wide and cherished circle of nieces and nephews whose lives were touched deeply by her kindness.
From the family of her brother David Earl — Angie and David; from Joe’s family — Karen, Eileen, Theresa, and Lesley; from Ann’s family — Diana, Alice, Earl Curtis, and Phillip Gable; from Helen’s family — Norma, Beverly, and Janet; from Danny’s family — Daniel and Kim; and from Connie’s family — John and Stephanie.
Among them all, John held a uniquely tender place in Susie’s heart — not only a nephew, but a steady presence, and, in many ways, like the son she didn’t get to raise.
To those who knew her, Susie was a quiet force of faith. She never missed a Bible study, no matter the weather or the weight of the day. Scripture was not merely something she read—it was the melody she lived by, the compass that guided her steps, and the comfort that steadied her through every season.
Her story is one of devotion— to God, to family, and to the small, steady acts of love that make a life sacred.
A memorial service will be held on December 2 at 11am at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia (https://www.google.com/maps/search/1080+Scott+Hudgens+Drive,+Canton,+Georgia?entry=gmail&source=g).
