

Troy was born on May 21, 1941, in Cartersville, GA, son of the late Hulon “Slick” Tomlinson and Edith Lewis Tomlinson. His father owned and operated the first bowling alley and pool hall in Cartersville. He often reminisced about growing up in downtown Cartersville, GA, enjoying many days with loving aunts, uncles and cousins. As a young adult he spent many days drag racing, often bringing home trophies. He was raised in Tabernacle Baptist Church and remained a member until the time of his passing. Troy proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He loved watching football and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State and Alabama. He was employed by the US Postal Service and retired after 46 years of service. Troy was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed greatly by his family.
Troy is survived by his wife, Janie Edwards Tomlinson; daughters, Susanne (Benji) Baggett and Janice (Heyward) Adams; grandchildren, Zachary (Ciara) Sisk, Joshua (Claudia) Sisk, Abigail (Chris) Hill, Dallas Adams and Easton (Gracie) Adams; great-grandchildren, Mia Grace Hill, Kinsley Lou Sisk, Troy David Hill, Veda Jane Sisk, Maylee Jo Jackson and Jace Jackson.
