Ada was born on December 6, 1933 in Tarboro, NC and raised in the Rocky Mount area. She and her family moved to Cary, NC in 1963 and remained for many years. Her final years were spent in a retirement community in Holly Springs, where she enjoyed visiting with friends, going to the movies and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Evelyn Frazier and sister, Peggy Miner.
Ada is survived by three children: Beverly M. Blomquist and her husband Joseph of Apex, NC; Christopher R. Moss and his wife Valrie of Durham, NC; and James Jeffrey Moss and his wife Diane of Springdale, AR. Five grandchildren, Christy Lockridge and her husband Matthew of Cary, NC, Angie Blanchard and her husband Jamie of Willow Spring, NC, Jennifer Wynn and her husband Mark of Prospect Hill, NC, Danielle Moss of Greenville, NC and Thea Chang and her husband Jon of El Paso, Texas. Great-grandchildren, Lara and Caitlin Lockridge, Colton and Caroline Blanchard, and Lauren and Natalee Wynn. Nieces, Pam and Kim Miner; nephews, Tim and Dan Miner and first cousin Margie Walker.
She worked for many years as a floral designer at local florists and then provided child daycare in her home. She had a life-long love of reading, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a people-person and never met a stranger.
Arrangements are by Brown Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, NC.
A time of visitation will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in the Chapel of Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd. Cary, NC 27511 with a Celebration of Life Service following at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
