Angela M. Lacenere

Mrs. Angela Mazzone Lacenere (Angie), 80, of Cary NC passed away on Monday April 19, 2010 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh NC. She was born on July 22, 1929 in Brooklyn NY, raised in Middletown NY, and later moved to Poughkeepsie NY. Angie was Executive Secretary for the Vassar College Finance Department and retired in 1992 with 26 years of service. Angie had a great love of music and dancing, especially square dancing, which she and husband Joe enjoyed for many years.

Daughter of the late Carmine and Mary Mazzone, she is survived by her husband Joseph W. Lacenere of Cary NC, two sons and a daughter, Joseph W. Lacenere Jr. of Charlotte NC, John C. Lacenere of Plainsboro NJ, and Marlene A. Silva of Wake Forest NC.; a son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Thomas Silva and Christine Lacenere; her sister, Theresa Sardella, and husband Frank of Middletown NY, sister-in-law Carla Mazzone, five grandchildren, Sara, Travis, Katie, Nick, and Stephanie, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her brother, Richard E. Mazzone of Pittsboro NC.

Funeral Services will be held at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, NC on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of North Carolina, or Meals On Wheels of Wake County, North Carolina.
