Barbara Jean Bingham (née Goodall), age 89, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025. Born on August 21, 1935, in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel and Jean Goodall.
Barbara was the devoted wife of John Lorin Bingham, with whom she shared more than 60 years of marriage. They were married on June 14, 1958, and together built a life grounded in love, laughter, and service. John preceded her in death on April 12, 2023, in Cary, North Carolina.
She was a loving and proud mother to three sons and their spouses: Arthur Lorin Bingham and his wife Naoko Bingham (née Ozawa); John Daniel Bingham and his wife Wendy Bingham (née Wilson); and David Goodall Bingham and his wife Melissa Bingham (née Cooper). Her joy expanded with the arrival of her six adored grandchildren: Casey McGahey (née Bingham), Evan Bingham, Hanna Bingham, Molly Bingham, Cooper Bingham, and Tallulah Bingham; and two great-grandchildren, Rowan Bingham and Coast Bingham.
Barbara dedicated her career to teaching special education at Richfield High School in Richfield, Ohio, where her compassion and commitment made a lasting impact on countless students. Her passion for helping others extended into her community through her involvement in the Broadview Heights Lioness Club and as a founding volunteer of Lend-a-Hand, a local charity serving residents in need in the Broadview Heights and Brecksville areas.
Barbara had a deep love for animals—especially dogs—and enjoyed the comfort of a good mystery novel and the occasional indulgence of a hot fudge sundae. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, unwavering dedication to family and community, and her sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal rescue or charity in honor of Barbara’s love for animals and her generous heart.
