Bryan Mellinger

Bryan Jay Mellinger, 41, died Wednesday, April 06, 2011 after a courageous 21 month battle with brain cancer. He was born April 15, 1969 in Ephrata, PA. Bryan was a 1988 graduate of Conestoga Valley High School where he played football and basketball. He continued his football career at Bloomsburg University earning a BS in marketing. He was a dedicated project manager at EDS/HP for 18 years. Bryan served his community by coaching his girls in basketball and soccer, serving as TSA representative for the swim club and as President of the HOA. He loved going to the beach at Topsail Island and cheering for the Tarheels.

Bryan is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sherrie Mellinger of Morrisville, NC; two daughters, Emily and Rachel; father and mother, Ivan and Jo Ann (Kennedy) Mellinger of Ephrata, PA; brothers, Jared Mellinger (Michelle) of Lancaster, PA, Randy Mellinger (Cinda) of New Holland, PA; grandmother, Sarah Mellinger of Ephrata, PA; a large extended family of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Crosspointe Church, 6911 Carpenter Fire Station Rd, Cary, NC. Burial will follow at Wake Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, April 9 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke Medical Center or Hospice of Wake County.
