Charles H. "Charlie" Fox, 71, died on Saturday, June 18, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 16, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Norman and Elizabeth (Mills) Fox. He attended Duke University and the University of North Carolina's School of Library Science. He served his country as a Russian voice intercept specialist in the U.S Air Force and the citizens of North Carolina as a librarian in the State's Library system where he was Section Chief of the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped for more than 20 years.
Charlie is survived by a son, Norman Fox and his wife, Tracy Schmitz from Seattle, WA, daughter, Alexandra Fox of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Molly, Gus and Charlie Fox; brother, Steven Fox of Monterey, CA; step-sister, Bonnie Schwan of St. Augustine, FL; along with many other relatives and close friends all of whom loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC.
