Christina “Chris” Westhead, age 91, was born on December 9, 1932, and passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Chris was the daughter of James McDonald and Christina (Paterson) McDonald of Liverpool, England.
She is survived by her husband, Stan Westhead, and their four children: Karen Griffin (Jerry), Mike Westhead (Jan), Pete Westhead (Jeanette), and Jean Morse (Dave). She was also dearly loved by her eight grandchildren—Angela, Ethan, Jennifer, Kathryn, Tori, Alayna, Rachel, and Aaron—and five great-grandchildren: Kennedi, Elizabeth, Taeden, Tobias, and Freyja.
Chris was a warm and loving woman whose energy could make anyone smile. She was calm and sweet but also had a feisty, silly side that could brighten even the darkest days. She made each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren feel special, always going out of her way to make others feel cared for and heard.
Her nearly 70-year love story with Stan shone brightly through their family. They were best friends until the end, and their love remains a testament to what true love really is. They supported each other through every stage of life, through all its joys and hardships.
Though Chris has passed on, her legacy will live through her family and all those she touched.
There will be no local service, but for those who wish to make a memorial donation in her honor, the family asks that contributions be made to the National Wildlife Federation (https://www.nwf.org), an organization close to her heart.
Memorial tributes and messages of symphathy can be left in the "Add a Memory" box to the right of the page. Brown Wynne of Cary is honored to serve the Westhead family.
